    Caramel Apple Rice Krispie Treats

Published: Sep 24, 2017 · Modified: Sep 11, 2022 by Katelyn Theofanis · This post may contain affiliate links · This blog generates income via ads · #sponsoredpost · Leave a Comment

If you're looking for a cute Halloween party treat, look no further than these "Caramel Apple" Rice Krispie Treats. They are designed to look like the classic caramel apple, but SURPRISE, they're actually Rice Krispie treats.

    Caramel Apple Rice Krispy Treats

I have loved rice cereal treats since I was a little girl. I came up with a clever little idea to form the treats into rounds and turn them into "caramel apples". The result was better than I could have expected. They actually look like caramel apples!

I made these ones large to replicate the size of an apple, but you can make them smaller too. This would give you more yield as well, if making this for a party, etc.

To Make These "Caramel Apple" Rice Krispie Treats

    Time needed: 30 minutes.

    "Caramel Apple" Rice Krispie Treats

    1. Find a classic rice krispie treat recipe and add ½ a cup of dried apples in place of ½ cup of rice krispie cereal.

    2. While still warm, form the treats into handful sized balls and place a popsicle stick into each.

    3. Melt down a package of Kraft caramels (or make a homemade batch).

    4. Dip the rice cereal "apples" into the caramel and roll in honey roasted peanuts.

    5. Allow caramel to set before eating.

This is a fun project to complete with the kids. If you can't find popsicle sticks, I actually used paper straws in mine (as pictured.) These actually added a cute colorful aspect to the finished product. You can eat them on the stick, or simply tear them apart as you would a classic rice cereal treat.
