Homemade Heath bar brownies are deliciously sweet, with Heath candy pieces and toffee bits baked in. The moist, cakey-style brownie has a scrumptious chocolate flavor with a crunchy, sweet toffee topping. This simple, made-from-scratch recipe is easy to make and delivers tasty brownies.
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and set it aside.
Whisk flour, cocoa powder, and espresso powder (if using) in a medium bowl.
Mix {cooled} melted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar in a large bowl until combined. Add the eggs and mix vigorously. (Mix by hand or with an electric mixer). Whisk in the vanilla.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix just until combined.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth it into an even layer using a rubber spatula. Sprinkle Heath bar pieces and toffee bits over the brownie mixture.
Bake brownies for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
Sprinkle additional Heath candy bar pieces over the warm brownies after they come out of the oven if desired—Cool brownies on a wire rack before eating.
